Weekly Wrap Up
I was going to link up with Saturday Morning Scene, but then realized that my SMS is always the same when I post. Which means Josh is working & I'm catching up on DVRed shows. It's only when I don't have time to post that I'm doing something interested enough to link up!

I am loving "Colder Weather" by Zac Br*wn Band. I could listen to it on repeat for hours on end. One of our clients is good friends with ZBB & plays with them when they play shows in the area. Almost every time he comes in, he mentions that they were in the area, just jamming out at someone's house. One time he told me they were at this house right up the block from me (he didn't know where I live)! There's a band that lives up the street and plays mostly local shows and apparently the two bands are friends & had a jam session. So jealous! Maybe I'll have to start taking GB on a walk that way every day, so I don't miss a giant tour bus in their driveway.

Speaking of GB, she's on a long-term steroid regime for now. The doctor determined that since her skin infection has healed, the only reason that she is still itching is due to allergies. So, I can pay for the $200 allergy test (after driving 3.5 hours to NC State) to find out what she's allergic to (food allergies aren't included in the test), or I have two medication options: Alertec (sp?) or steroids. The Alertec is ridiculously expensive. We're talking $120 for 30 pills & to start, she would need one a day. The steroids are $8/50 pills, which should last her quite a while. Long term, high dose steroids have some pretty negative side effects, like muscle deterioration, she pees like crazy, and she gains weight where she normally wouldn't, but I have a regime that takes her from the current 2 pills per day down to 1/2 a pill every other day. So, until I win the lottery, steroids it is. She's happy. My wallet is happy. The vet is happy.

We had a local chamber of commerce event the other day at a really cool venue. Normally, members of the chamber host the events (restaurants, bars, etc.), but this one was at a new attraction opening up here. It's an upside down house (I know there are a few of them in the southeast) and when you go in there are 4 floors of things to do.
The first floor had a ride where two people sit, almost like they're on a bike, and you pedal. The harder you pedal, the higher this thing swings back and forth. It's like a ride you would see at an amusement park. The thing goes like 20' up in the air! It's like a giant swing and if you pedal hard enough you can go all the way around. Then there was a radar that told you how fast you could pitch, a mock up of how cold the water was when the Titanic sunk (you had to see how long you could hold your arm in it while it counted), and a pulley system exhibit where you sat in a seat and pulled your body weight up by pulley. My dad & I raced - he won :-(.
The second floor had some flight simulators and a bunch of different make-your-own-music-video games as well as a bunch of different funky mirrors to play with. There was also a brain game that two people played and the object was to relax as much as possible. The fewer brain waves, the more your ball moved. I won! :-) They had a build-your-own-roller-coaster ride, which was in a simulator. You could build your own or choose a pre-built one and ride it. I'm bummed that we didn't get to do this one! We ran out of time.
The third floor was more of the same. I can't remember anything exciting on that floor.
The fourth floor was a laser tag & ropes course floor. I convinced my dad to get up on the ropes course (in his dress shoes, mind you) and when he got to the first platform, he stopped and wouldn't go anywhere! It was a blast though, and my mom had to leave early, so my dad and I got to spend some quality time together.

After the chamber event, Josh had a baseball game. His team is in 1st place (out of 3) in the league. They played the 3rd place team. Y'all, this 3rd place team is a JOKE. The last time they played, the game was over in the 7th inning due to the mercy rule.
You can probably see where this is going...
One player on Josh's team struck out and threw his helmet and bat. The umpire ejected him. Just two innings later another teammate did the same thing. (Idiot.. really? Did you not just see the other kid get kicked out?) So, he was ejected. Along with his dad, one of the assistant coaches. Their family is from NY, and I know up north you can get away with a lot more foul language than you can down here. He started dropping F-bombs all over the place, which made the umpire really happy.
While his dad is throwing a fit, the player who was ejected second starts undressing in the dugout - really, could that not wait? No one wants to see you half-naked. So, he takes his shirt off, makes a scene & puts the exact same shirt on again. He was just loitering to piss off the umpire. Josh got mad at him for acting so stupid, so he yells, "Stephen, get your stuff and get the f*ck out of here!" Well, the umpire thought that Josh was yelling at him, so Josh gets a warning.
It was a circus. Needless to say, the other team won 7-4.

Alright, if you've stuck through this far, you're probably one of the few! Go enjoy your weekend! :-)

So Josh's team lost??? What's this Saturday morning thing?
