Day 13 - Goals
Goals are a tough topic for me right now, because my entire world has shifted as of late. My priorities have changed, but maybe now is a good time to lay out my new priorities.
- Learn how to mow the lawn. And weed-eat. And whatever else is necessary for yard maintenance.
- Pay my bills on one income and do my best to make ends meet and save some money.
- Establish my career and have a long term plan in place within the next five years.
- Redecorate my bedroom. As stupid as it sounds, I really want to start fresh.
- I want to pay my mortgage down to 68% of the original value in the next five years. This one is a lofty goal, I know, but I really want it to happen.
- Long term goal: Obviously, I'd like to get married again in the future and have some chillins. I know it's not going to happen anytime soon, but eventually.
- Buy a new car. I'm just not too keen on having a car payment. Thankfully, my car has run beautifully for me. The interior is falling apart - my ceiling fabric is completely loose and the other day my glove compartment fell completely out of the dash.. it's a 2003, people, that's not supposed to happen! I'd like to find something that will serve me as a family car, but still be sporty enough for me.
- Learn to coupon. I clip occasionally, but I feel like I just don't have time for all the work that goes into really saving money. I need to learn, because that's some precious $$ that can be saved!
That's all I can think of for now, but I think it's a good start. I'm sure my goals & such will change in the next couple of months as I adjust to the single life again, but I'm embracing change right now.

Great goals! Making a fresh start with your bedroom can be fun. Buy some new sheets, bedding, rearrange all the furniture...good luck!
ReplyDeleteI've become the lawn mower since I'm not working and my husband is and I'm dying to have a weed eater. Ha!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to set goals like this.
You've got a great list there. I would love to redecorate ANY room of my house, I just need the motivation.
