In the meantime, I need the opinions of the business minded out there: In our office, we're having a problem with work loads for certain employees. The majority of our clients belong to the employee who has been their the longest, and so that person ends up being so bogged down in the day-to-day work that while the rest of us are ready to leave at 5:00 every day, that person ends up needing to stay late - which doesn't happen often. Instead, it turns into complaining about the work load. Basically, we're looking down the barrel at having to come in early/stay late on a mandatory basis instead of on a voluntary basis, like we do now. Personally, I hate being micro-managed, so I'm trying to avoid that at all costs.
Our problem is that our processes aren't efficient, so we're not getting as much done from 9-5. Do any of you out there have any suggestions for websites or articles on ways to make businesses processes more efficient? I know this is a super broad request, especially without giving you more insight into which processes aren't working for us, but if any of you have been to any classes lately or read anything that you think might help me out, please share!
I'll expect lots of good advice by the time I get back! :-) And in exchange, I'll tell you all about my trip! Win-win right? At least for me!
