Unwelcome visitors.

This makes me want to vomit:

Have you ever heard of W*stboro B*ptist Church? (Sorry for the *s, I don't want my blog included in a search engine associated with them.) They're the church that boycotts military funerals, tells homosexuals that they're going to burn in hell, and targets teenagers to tell them their parents hate them. In fact there are so many things that they protest against, that I'm not really sure what they're in support of. They hate homesexuals, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, soldiers, Muslims, Hindus, and non-Caucasians. So basically if you're a straight, anti-American, white baptist you're okay? Who knows.

My town is one of their next stops on their tour.

They plan to target our local high schools in hopes of telling them that God and their parents hate them.

Seriously? What good does that do? I honestly don't understand their motives or goals.

Why did they pick our town to target? Are we "extra sinful"? And our children at that? What have they done to anyone?

Thankfully, the community has decided to rally against them. The local university has started a fundraising campaign to raise money for all the causes that WBC fights against. There's also a group who will be setting up tables at the high schools in support of the causes that WBC pickets. A local church is using the racetrack to organize a prayer night in order to give the media something else to talk about.

All WBC wants is media attention, and thankfully, we have people around here who are fighting to keep the attention off of them.

I guess that's what I'm doing, too, giving them the attention they crave. Hopefully by not putting their name in my post, it'll be limited to my regular blog readers. And frankly, I think everyone should know who they are, because they're awful. They're horrible representations of "Americans" and "Christians."
