Hello, Monday morning, not so nice to see you again.

My favorite thing about this weekend: I went shopping with my mom on Saturday, to get birthday presents for my niece and nephews. Of course, spring clothes flooded the mall, and all I wanted to do was splurge on some cute sundresses. Now that AJ & I are trying to save, I find it really hard to pay full price for things. I was pretty bummed about all the expensive lovelies that I just couldn't justify, and our last stop was Belk. I took a quick glance at their clearance section, and satisfied my itch with:

Go ahead. Ask me how much I spent... each item was 75% off, so each one was marked down to $4.98!! AND my mom had a coupon for 20% off clearance items (you can tell how bad they want to get rid of this stuff), so I paid a whopping $8.83 for the skirt & dress!! I'm pretty sure they couldn't even make the clothes for that cheap - that's how bad they're trying to clear out their old merch. I know neither item is "spring"ish, but we still have a couple of weeks of 55-65 degree weather.

My least favorite thing about this weekend: I was standing in line at the mall and my phone rang. It was one of my old co-workers that I'm still close to. You know it's bad when the first thing she says is, "Have you heard?" My boss at my last job went on vacation with her husband Friday night after work. It was their anniversary, so they drove to the mountains. Her husband kept complaining of indigestion, but took some Tums & said he felt better. A couple of hours later, he collapsed in the hotel bathroom, and passed away at the hospital. I feel awful for her. Her family, kids and grandkids, all live in NJ. I just can't imagine losing my husband, especially do unexpectedly, and on top of that, living 12 hours from my family. My heart goes out to her and her family.

Just to leave on a good note, it's 65 degrees today!
