Crazy things.

Yesterday was loaded up with reminder moments to appreciate everything I have. To be honest, I think we all need that every once in a while.

First, I went to the dentist for my six month checkup (no cavs, yay!!). The day before my appointment, the receptionist called to tell me that the dentist wouldn't be there & ask me if I was okay with that. Sure, I mean, it's just one time. When I got there, the hygienist made a comment about needing a new x-ray machine, but because "he just had brain surgery" she didn't want to ask him for one. I had no idea what she was talking about, so I laughed politely & went on with it. A couple of minutes later, she said "He was supposed to be out for 2 months, but he came back after 21 days." At that point, I was really confused, so I asked her what she was talking about. Apparently, my dentist had a hemorrhage behind his eye that was bleeding and forming a blood clot. He came down with food poisoning-like symptoms, so his wife convinced him to go to the ER for fluids. When he got there, the Dr. immediately intubated him & flew him to a bigger hospital for immediate surgery. He had 44 staples in his head. The biggest kicker about it is that he's only 35!! Can you imagine?? And if the ER doc hadn't been so concerned about his headache, they wouldn't have found it in time.

I was watching the news later, and one of the headlines lately has been about a man who robbed four banks, and after the last one, he was being chased by police when he shot himself, wrecking his car. They released his name yesterday. He was one of my former customers at my last job. He started robbing banks in September and I didn't leave until October. I count myself lucky that he didn't rob our bank - I can't count the number of times I helped him.

Of course, with all that news, I had nightmares about foreign men invading my home (no, I'm sure LOST didn't have anything to do with it :-)). Seriously, though, it's hearing things like that that make you appreciate your life, family, and friends even more.

Enough with the deep-ness, though! Did anyone see the Olsen twins on GMA this morning? Apparently they have a line for JCPenney. It's pretty cute, but if I have to listen to their voices again, I might just slam my head against a wall. I'll take one of each of these, please:
Things I didn't like include:
They called their accessories "timeless". Um, I don't think so.

These would look cute under a short dress or on a 13 year old girl, but that's about it.

What do you think: Olsenboye or no Olsenboye?

  2. The Olsen's line is cute, but all of it seems like stuff one would have to be pencil thin to wear.

  3. That's crazy about your dentist AND the bank robber. My dad's bank got robbed around Thanksgiving and it was pretty scary. Thank goodness you weren't around. I see you're Clemson fans...I used to live in SC! Cute cute cute blog!

  4. I like the first shirt. The skirt is cute too. Not sure about the shoes. HATE the purse.

I am glad you missed the crazy guy.
