The town that I live in has the nickname, "Mayberry by the Sea." In other words, nothing exciting happens often, the crime rate is low, and it's a good place to raise your family.
So imagine the uproar when one of the town officials was arrested last week for driving a town vehicle, on the beach, while having a couple of beers.
Then, I walk into work this morning, and hear my dad go, "Oh. My. God." The mayor was arrested last night for a DUI. Looovely.
It's not really such a big deal, but my dad is a town official, so the phones have been flooded with the newspaper, fellow officials, etc. all looking for a comment.
TGIF, right?
