Brrrr.
It's finally starting to feel like winter around here. Like December. I am not a happy camper. I would much rather be:
April cannot come fast enough. Because by then, it's warm enough to be back in my precious sunlight!
Reasons I hate winter:
Two words: Blond. Blue. In the winter, my skin blends in with my hair. I don't appreciate looking like a ghost. While I'd probably fit right in with the Norwegians, Scandinavians, and Swedes, I'd much rather identify with my Indian heritage and be tan.
I have lip excema. It only attacks my face when there's no humidity. I appreciate melt-your-makeup humidity. Really, I do.
Our house is one big energy leak. The windows leak. The doors leak. The walls are un-insulated. I don't mind the heat in the summertime. I loathe cold. Loathe it. I don't appreciate cold hands. I don't appreciate cold feet. Cold noses. None of it.
1000 square foot house. Two people. One over-size cat. One 60-lb, over excited puppy dog. It's not fun.
Our renovation comes to a halt because it's too cold outside to do anything. Then again, our excuse in the summer is that we'd rather be on the water, so I guess this one is a lose/lose situation.
It's dark by the time I get home. I am not motivated to run errands & do chores when it's dark outside & I'm much more comfortable lounging on the couch.
So please, God, speed this winter up & make it summer, again. I mean, I'll settle for another 70 degree Christmas. I don't care if I never see snow again. I just want summer. Like yesterday.

I'm with you! I've been so lazy lately just eating junk food and sitting on the couch cause it's freezing and dark outside by 5pm :(
ReplyDeleteAnd my skin totally dries up and my hands start to crack and bleed-yuck! I love fall, but winter can hurry up and be over PLEASE!
Oh I hear you! I hate being pale, my lips and skin are so dry and I hate leaving for work and coming home from work when it's dark!
ReplyDeletegirl, you are on the same page I am!!! I am dying around here!!!! I'm always so cold, and that makes me so grumpy!!! I can't wait until summer, I love the warmth and I miss my tan!!!
ReplyDeletethe only thing I enjoy around this time is making a fire in our fireplace! The problem is though, it seems to always burn out way to fast!!! Please summer, come soon! :)
I hate the winter too. Especially this year, where it has been DRY and freezing. For some reason, I don't mind *quite* so much if there's actually snow!
