Whew.
I may or may not have mentioned that I was scheduled for jury duty in the county this month. I rescheduled because I'll be in school to get my license. However, if I hadn't rescheduled, I would be in the jury pool for a man who killed a 74 year old man, his own girlfriend, and raped his girlfriend's daughter while kidnapping her. All this happened like 2 houses away from my sister (she's not in a great neighborhood, obviously). The man has already been to trial for his girlfriend's murder & the kidnap/rape of her daughter. He's on death row. His trial for the murder of the older man is the week I was supposed to have JD. Breathing a sigh of relief on that one... thank you, obnoxious licensing class, for offering me an excuse, otherwise I may have had nightmares for the rest of my life...
Whoa- I was almost on a jury for a case where the guy stabbed his sister like 30 times. But I knew I wouldn't be able to look at the pictures- in fact- I almost fainted just listening to the opening speeches- so I had to go into a little room (With the guy!) and tell them the case was too violent for me. I was sure he was going to come and find me for making such a statement. ahh.
