Monday Musings.
I made almost half of what I made at the festival today, just by bringing in jewelry to work. And that was from 3 people. So, it's not that people just don't like the stuff - it's that the people at the festival were just cheap (good news for you, Janet!).
Other than jewelry sales, the last couple of weeks of work are awful. They're riding me really hard, expecting me a lot out of me, and wearing me out because I'm leaving. I thought it was just me, but someone else pointed it out. Today, I was working the drive-thru, scanning work, tutoring a new computer program, trying to balance my drawer because I shorted someone money, and field phone calls from the HQ about the stuff I was scanning. At any certain time, one person would be doing one, maybe two of those things at a time, but never all of them. I was made to stay late, into my lunch, for something that anyone else could've handled. While I'm trying to do all of this, one of the teller is driving me up the wall:
Teller: Hilary, can you show me how to do this deposit?"
Me: Yeah. I have like 14 things right now that I'm doing, give me just a sec and I'll be over.
Teller: Okay. I just need you to show me this.
Me: I'll be right there.
Teller: I just can't figure it out. Can you show me?
Me: ONE SECOND. I'm going to cry. Really. I'm going to cry.
Tomorrow, we have to be at work at 7:30. The bank opens at 9. 7:30? Really?
I just have to keep telling myself I only have one more week.
I also really need to de-addict myself from caffeine. I only have one cup of coffee in the morning Monday through Friday. And throughout the summer, I would get these really intense headaches only on the weekends. I would try to sleep them off, but it didn't help. I just assumed because I was in the sun so much that it was from the heat or dehydration. I got one Saturday afternoon that lasted through Sunday afternoon. A 24 hour almost-migraine is horrible. I had a thought on Sunday afternoon, and I made myself a cup of coffee. Bingo. My headache disappeared within minutes of my first few sips. Caffeine headache much? I'm considering switching to half-caf, just so that I'll be able to wake up in the mornings, but won't get headaches on the weekends. Any thoughts on half-caf? Is it the same price as the regular stuff?
