Hello, Mr. Rogers.
I met our neighbor today. She's an interesting character. First, she has 4 dogs. That run free. Which don't mix well when I have a cat. (BTW, my parents have offered to keep Trey for a few weeks if it gives us time to get a fence up, but I have mixed feelings about it because I don't want him to think we've abandoned him.) Her dogs came running into my yard & right into my flower garden. So maybe we don't have evil squirrels after all, just rambunctious dogs. She refers to her boyfriend as "the boyfriend" and lives with said boyfriend and her sister. Her house is for sale, but she's a real estate agent. She also does spray tan. Which is obvious. She calls her jet skis "the skis".
"The boyfriend can't get the skis out."
My boyfriend can't move our jet skis.
She is friendly. And said she would pick up the poop in our yard tomorrow.. she says she always does it, but it makes me wonder if she always does it, why didn't she today? She has a craps table & she likes to invite other couples over to drink. Apparently we'll love the neighborhood. I wanted to be like, I know, I live 4 blocks south of here. But my little area, everyone stays to themselves unless you run into each other on the way to the mailbox. We know each other's names & we wave when we see each other & you can tell them when you're going out of town, but that's about it. I don't really like getting in tight with my neighbors. Because I've had pretty bad experiences with neighbors in the past. I am very irritable about my personal space & being respectful. Like, don't blast your music to the point where I can hear it. Don't mow your grass before 7am. Don't let your dogs run on my property. Ask before you park in my yard. That kind of thing. ANYWAY... it should be interesting.
As far as the back drop necklace goes, I could NOT find one in my price range that wasn't from a sketchy website (excluding Etsy), so I decided to just go for it and make my own. I'm just making the back piece which will connect to the clasp on the necklace that I decide to wear, and will go down my back. I am making each individual link out of 24 half hard sterling silver wire, so it's pretty time consuming. I'm using navy blue & clear beads that I already have, and since it will be covered by my veil, the fact that it's not quite as dressy as the rest of me will be doesn't really matter. It will be my something blue in case my light blue skivvies are too dark for my dress. I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm used to spending 5 minutes on a pair of earrings, and so far I've worked on it for about 2 1/2 hours and it's about halfway done.
I think Trey is sickly. He's been sleeping ALL day. My dad left him outside last night, all night, and he's been really lethargic today. When he gets like this, it usually wears off after a couple of days. The true test will be tonight. He usually wakes up between 4-6 to go outside. If he's sick, he doesn't get up, he'll sleep all night.
Praise report!! When I planned my vacation time for the wedding, I was told we get 2 vacation days extra for the wedding. So, I planned 5 for our honeymoon and 2 wedding days. I planned to have Wednesday afternoon off, because I usually do, and then Th-F. Well, they came out with this new policy in January that when you have 2 vacation days in a week, you don't get an afternoon off. Which is pretty devastating when it comes to wedding planning, obviously. We got our lunch schedules for next week, and I have Wed. off at 1:00, then Thurs. & Fri. off. I told on myself & pointed out that I wasn't supposed to, and she asked our branch manager, and sure enough, because they aren't "vacation days", I'm allowed to have my afternoon off. YAY! I can do so much in the afternoon, even if it's just laying out working on my tan!
Weather report for W-day: 69 degrees & 60% chance of showers. But it was 70 & 10% chance yesterday. Not really worried about it, regardless.
Oh, I have a What Would You Do? I received a package in the mail today. It was unmarked, so I opened it (without AJ). It was the espresso maker from our Sears.com registry! But there's no card. Only a packing slip with my name on it. I don't know who it came from. Or who to thank. What should we do as far as thank yous?
