Living for the weekends.

I really really really enjoy the weekends. So much so that at about 2:00 on Sunday afternoon, I already start to dread having to go back to work on Monday. BUT, I did enjoy the rest of my weekend... here's a recap.

Saturday morning: I headed over to our new house to take some pictures, since it's been a while since my last "in progress" shots. AJ's brother and dad showed up to help him with the bottom cabinets in the kitchen. As soon as they started talking about moving electricity, dryer hoses, and water pipes, I got nervous, so I left.

The living room (sans wainscoting & crown molding)

The orange room (bedroom 2) with all my stuff out of storage. We still have to paint the trim & finish the closet.

Our bedroom. It's coming along. It still needs finishing work, the windows have to be finished, and we need to get the carpet down.

Saturday afternoon: SHOPPING with the girls, the cure for anything. My mom, sister and I headed out and didn't come home till 6:30, we didn't wear watches and completely lost track of time. I got a cute shirt at Ann Taylor Loft for $5 and when my sister heard the lady tell me how much I owed, she went and got the same shirt. I bought a summer-y skirt, white pants (eeeek!), and a dress at Belk. I got some of those neat little gel inserts for the balls of your feet (thanks to the heels I wear & standing up for 8 hours a day). I got a puzzle for my niece's birthday, some Easter stuff for my Secret Pal, and some stuff for my DIY flower girl gifts at Target. And I got a cute Peridot color shirt and this dress at Charlotte Russe:

It has been raining like CRAZY since Saturday, and it just started to clear up a couple of hours ago. The temperature dropped 30 degrees :-( and it's started to snow at my alma mater, another :-(. I want to be sitting in my apartment in my sweats, watching the snow fall outside, and checking the school website every 5 minutes to find out if I have to go to class/work in the morning. In the real world, if it snowed massively here, I'd be just about the only one required to go to work because everyone else either has children they have to stay home with or they live so far away that it would be "dangerous" to travel, thanks to the lack of salt trucks. I think we have 2 and they're about 1 1/2 hours away. I've heard that when it does snow pretty badly (think 1989), there's only one lane from here to the salt trucks... all hour and a half stretch of it.

Alright, well, that was my weekend. How was yours?

  1. I love the weekends too. I dread Mondays- but once they come it is not so bad. (I am pretty lucky right now) I LOVE your shirt dress. I love the neck line.
