Major uh-oh.
I swear, when I pictured my wedding, I was always one of those "That won't happen to me" type people. My sister-in-law won't drop out. My brother won't refuse to come. Pssh... never. Well, this one has definitely taken the cake.

I went to pick up my engagement ring from Kay Jewelers. And she pulls out this ring:

Which was about 3/4 carat. My ring is most definitely this one:

In 1.03 carats. So, imagine my surprise when I pull out this ring & think: well, I know I haven't seen it in a while, but I swear I thought the diamonds were a little bigger than that. So after about 5 minutes of trying to convince the saleswoman that this REALLY wasn't my ring, she took me over the display to pick out my actual ring. Then she runs in the back to try to call her manager. After being on the phone for about 5 minutes, she says "The factory has your ring. I'm going to get them to overnight it to you, and I'll call you tomorrow with an update." I mean, I really really really try not to over-react, but seriously! My thoughts are, is she going to take the ring I just picked out, size it to the 5 1/2 they have on file, and send it back like they found my ring? Did they give my ring to someone else who was like "HELLO!" and walked off with a larger ring than her fiance originally gave her? I am really trying to keep my cool, but wouldn't you flip out?

:o(
ReplyDeleteI feel ya! i'd be a bit ticked off too!

ReplyDeleteoh heck yeah, i would SO flip out!!! what the heck?? whoever did that "mishap" should be fired! sorry if that's a little too mean, but come on...there is such a thing as "double checking"!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I would totally flip out! It sounds like you handled it well. Try to keep on open mind!
ReplyDeleteOh man! I am sorry! I got my ring from Kay too- their costumer service seems hit or miss- sometimes it is great (why the hubbs bought from there) and sometimes is it AWFUL! I am sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd be so confused and ticked off. I probably would've cried, but not for guilt, but because I was genuinely upset.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope they get you the right ring asap!
