I swear, my cat is on drugs.
So, if you know anything about my feline friend, Trey, you know how absolutely crazy he is.

For example:
- He wakes me up every morning between 1-6 by jumping at my door knob until I get up. Then I have to grab him immediately and put him outside before he runs in my room. Then he comes in when I get up, around 7:00.
- He climbs up trees.. way up, like 40' up, and can't get down. He's done it 3 times.
- He goes on these rampages where he will run circles like he's chasing something/something is chasing him. He gets these possessed looking eyes, and he goes PSYCHO. But, he's scared of anything under the age of 18. Especially my 1 year old niece :-).
- He likes to lay in the chimney of our fire pit outside when it's not lit. Do not ask why.
- He likes drinking straws. If you have a fast food cup, he'll be all sneaky when you're not looking and bite your straw & take off running... even if it means your drink is still attached.
- He also likes to eat dental floss. Used dental floss.
- He has an attraction to hair ties. Like the elastic kind. If you leave them ANYWHERE, he will find them, and they show up in his food bowl. If you take them out, he'll chase you around until you give it back, and then he'll put it back in his food bowl. I've lost many a hair tie this way.
So, that just goes to show you how weird he is.
Today, he was in my room with me when I came home from work. I have my necklaces hanging from a rod that hangs from a wall-mounted cd rack. My nightstand is beneath it. He gets on it and starts batting at my necklaces. When I say, "Trey! No!" he looks at me with a long, green, tiny little beads, about 36" necklace caught around his ears/face. He starts batting at it, trying to get it off his head. Well, when I get up to help him out, he goes leaping through the air. Of course, the necklace is still stuck around his head, so his body flies forward and his head jerks backwards. Then the necklace snaps and tiny little green beads go flying EVERYWHERE. I'm still laughing about it. It helped bring humor to a day that started with "We could all lose our jobs. We're overstaffed." Yeah.. that was fun.

Our cats must be cousins or something. My cat chasing his tail like a dog. He flipped his water bowl everyday until I bought him an auto filler, not he paws the water out all over my carpet. he pounces my bed every morning between the hours of 5am & 6am until i get up and give him a toy to play with. and the silliest o all is that he loves to sit on my computer tower that is just below my computer tray that slides out with the key board and when I use my mouse he paws at my hand. (now that is cute) but the water mess... not so cute. I love my Maxey though!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's kinda crazy... sounds like a pretty entertaining cat though! I'd never be able to protect my drinking straws....
ReplyDeletehahaha too funny! i don't have any pets, but my two year old twins like to take my straws and run, with the drink still attached. :) hope the rest of your week is better than this morning.
